Goodbye to the new sewing machine…

My new ‘vrroooom‘ Brother PC-420PRW sewing machine turned out to be a beast!!

There are so many things I really like about the machine – but sadly I had persistent issues with the upper thread tension. I could not even sew a straight line! Had to rethread many times to get the thread tensioned, and then it kept slipping. The result was uneven loops in the upper thread and very loose bobbin thread.

Good news – after 6 projects and valiant efforts, I simply returned it. No cost to me. And I’m back working on my sweet dependable Brother CP6500. Ah.

Hasta luego! Coco

  1. I think that must be the case, Valerie. I read so many good reviews of the machine before purchasing it. And I love my CP6500, such a good little machine. Feeling stung, though, and like you, will look some more. Juki has a machine at about the same price, the HZL 85Z, I think it's a fairly new model, that looks very nice. For now, will content myself with looking 🙂

  2. What a disappointment. I'm slowly looking at a variety of sewing machines and Brother has a good reputation. Maybe it was that particular machine that was put together badly.
