A huge thank you and an update…

friends

Your many comments have been such a support for me over the last week. Thank you is not enough, so please know that I appreciate each and every comment, and each of you. Your friendship is valued.

The last week feels like a year. I didn’t think I’d have news so quickly, but I do. Background, I’ve been challenged since late last year with a heart issue. I was in hospital for 3 days in November. The first medication I was given was a set-back, as I had an adverse reaction to it.  And over the next 4 months, I started four more. Ha. Instead of a chair of bowlies (I love Mary Engelbreit), I have a bowl of meds. The last one, started in mid-May, was just awful. I had subtle reactions to it that suddenly became acute. A seizure and more time in the hospital.

With the offending drug discontinued, I’m feeling much better. The underlying condition for which it was prescribed is still there, but my body needs some recovery time, as well as some tests to be sure all is well. Meanwhile I’m reading, playing Australian Patience solitaire, watching favorite movies, cruising blogs, drawing, and getting my head straight.

I adore you guys 🙂 Coco

  2. I am putting you on our prayer list at church. I am praying for you, as are many of your followers. Know that you are not alone. Bod loves you and holds you in the palm on His hands. The universe is infinite and we hold on to such a small part of it.

  4. So glad to get this update, Coco! I did not get to respond to your sign-off due to the crazy things going on in my life–but I immediately started praying for you. And I am so grateful that SO many others did as it resulted in you posting again 🙂 I have not been able to blog for some time–but do enjoy your blog and many others–plus I have never quit sewing. Heal well and heal quickly and DO stay in touch when you can XXOO

  7. You know the old saying, “Don’t know which is worse…the kill or the cure!” I am very happy to read this update. Modern Meds–whew–my Mom had issues with so many and now my sister. So I’m so well aware of what can happen and how awful one can feel. BUT….so HAPPY to hear you are feeling better now! Just keep taking it easy and give us an update periodically if you feel up to it! Hugs.

  10. Yes, keep us posted. I too recently had health setbacks due to medications. Sometimes they cause more than they cure! Know that many of us are praying for you to feel better and get back to your sewing!

  11. Oh Coco!!!!! I was so devastated for you and was praying, and I am so glad you are beginning to heal and able to return to a sense of normalcy. I will pray your recovery is complete. I have been reading your delightful blog – and learning sew much – since the beginning, but don’t usually comment. My many thanks for your blog and my best well wishes for YOU!! 🙂

  13. Coco, I came across your blog in the middle of last year when I was suffering terrible pain following surgery to have my knee replaced which wasn’t entirely successful. I’m a similar age to you (and have silver hair) and finding your blog, and reading backwards to the first posting got me through some dark days. I’ve followed you since then and have been inspired by your sewing, a pastime I have returned to after many years of pursuing a high profile career. I’m about to retire at the end of this year and hope I get as much pleasure out of sewing when I have more time to devote to it as you do. I really wish you well with your recovery not least because I want to read more of your lovely postings!

  16. Still here with you, still sending you all the good thoughts and prayers. Unfortunately the meds can often be worse than the disease. Makes me wonder what the heck sometimes. Take care and come back when you can.

  18. We obviously adore you, too, Coco! I am so glad to hear that you are off the offending med and getting some recovery time. Keep resting (I am going to have to look up Australian patience, don’t know that one) and working on getting your head straight. It’s work to do that, and just enough work for you at this time. Take good care!
