Christmas photos and thoughts

My son has always said that blogging as I do is a bit narcissistic. And I agree. But It’s also true that photos from a distance disguise the more intimate characteristics of portraits.

I had an opportunity to have studio photos taken earlier this year, intended as gifts for my children. Showing my age, journey, and blessings. Coco

  1. I don’t know that I agree with your son. Sometimes you just need an outlet to express yourself – to share your creativity and your thoughts. You probably already know what your family will say – or else it’s not something they are particularly interested in. You have been a gift to me – an inspiration about sewing, about living life well, and about being honest about the fact that sometimes it isn’t easy – regardless of COVID or other outside circumstances. I love your blog – and I’m sure I’m not the only one!

  2. Tell your son from us, your readers, that your blog is an inspiration and a joy to many. Lots of great sewing ideas, and it’s always lovely to have someone who is willing to share of themselves so publicly. Many thanks, hope you continue for many years.

    1. I agree completely! I don’t think sharing your wisdom, advice, and talents is remotely narcissistic. I am grateful for all I’ve learned from your blog. And your portraits are lovely.

  3. Gorgeous Coco! Love that you show us you, all of you. No airbrushing; no rose-coloured glasses. Thank you for being a self-esteem goddess. Happy New Year, and May 2021 bring us some joy.

  5. Exactly! We get the face we’ve earned and why would we want anything else? My friends who have had ‘work’ done don’t look like themselves any more and it creeps me out. I wish I knew how to change the face on my replies. The photo was taken 12 years ago. Today I’m white haired and my face is a bit different. More Life Lines! Anyway, Lovely portrait!

      1. πŸ™‚ well, it is fun, but the greatest gift is all the friends I’ve met all over the world, I am so grateful and my life is so full as a consequence. Yes, an endorsement!

    1. Ah, but he gets the other 99%. And he and my daughter are my ever-supportive superfund just when my stash hits 2 fabrics, and I’m thinking about doing that postage stamp quilt (which I think would be great fun in any event).
